Here are some common questions I get about the direct marketing industry.
What do you sell?
Is this an MLM company?
Isn’t direct marketing a pyramid scheme?
Is this a get rich quick scheme?
What is the opportunity going to cost me?
How do I build financial independence?

What do you sell?
The parent company I work with sells candle and scent based products. I cannot be explicit here, but it is not a juice, cream, cleaning company, vacation scheme, self improvement seminar program nor any other product that is designed just to pump money out of you and into the hands of someone “up the line.” This product is a real, physical, decorative, useful product that can add beauty to your home in both physical and scented ways. Our products are tasteful, colorful, classical, and real. You would not be ashamed to put the product out where others can see it. I would love to tell you all about the product line and the parent company I work with. Please send me an email with a time you would like to be contacted and I’ll tell you all about it in just 5 minutes.
Is this an MLM company?
Yes- but that’s ok. Look at the information on the first page about picking a business opportunity. Working “MLM” or direct marketing differs from a regular company only in its marketing plan. GE, Microsoft, 3M, DirectTV, they are all great companies that use marketing to push their product into the market so you, the consumer, will buy it. They use expensive TV commercials, or other media to get the word out about their wares. Direct Marketing allows the independent business consultant to work with the parent company to… get the word out about their wares. The biggest difference is in the cost of ownership. If you go to open a popular fast food franchise these days, you need $500,000 in cash or more to get started. With direct marketing opportunities you can start with as little as $99.00, and end up making more than the owners of the big franchises!
Isn’t direct marketing a pyramid scheme?
No – A pyramid scheme is where a direct marketer is also listed as a sales person beneath others in his organization to gain access to more money. Otherwise, it is much like being “the boss.” Think about it, CEO’s and other “high profile” managers get massive bonuses from what… sitting on top of an organization that is doing well in the market. As a direct marketer… you got it… you sit on top of an organization that YOU build (you da’ boss!), and you get the same rewards as the big wigs in the corporate world.
Is this a get rich quick scheme?
No – All I am doing is finding other people who are interested and willing to put in the hard work it takes to start a business. I don’t get rich because of one, nor do I succeed by myself. This candle based company is all about working together to reach our individual goals. I have seen some hard workers hit the sales pipeline hard and they have made a mid 4-digit monthly income within just a few months. But most take longer. As with any real wealth building program, it takes work, time, and a bit of luck. My team and I will help you succeed!

What is the opportunity going to cost me?
To start with in this candle based opportunity it will cost you about $100.00. The majority of the product you can sell to get your money back and the
rest could be deducted as a business expense on your taxes. Even though I can show you how the costs can be reduced, you need to keep it in mind that all businesses have expenses. And since we are not a get rich quick scheme, you should have an expectation that, as a real business, your costs will mostly be your time at the start. Federal law requires you to be a material participant in your business, so then you should expect to roll your sleeves up a bit and get to work, spend a little, all to grow your business. Real business… real dedication… real results!
How do I build financial independence?
You will make a great living through two channels
Many will say.. ah-HA!. This is a pyramid scheme…. But that is not true. All companies offer their sales staff bonuses and commissions, and the managers of sales and marketing people get bonuses off of the performance of their staff. So does this one.
The process this candle company uses is called a party plan. The purpose of the plan is to get the product in front of people and let them experience it. The company has found that selling door-to-door just would not be practical for the sales person and people would fail. So they encourage groups of people to see the product all at the same time so they can talk about the product and the opportunity.
The company also offers some great rewards to both you and/or the hostess of the party which include free and discounted product. You can host the parties yourself, or you can ship a basket of samples anywhere in the U.S. Tell me about basket parties.
Just like a big company, if your staff does well, you get a bigger bonus.
