Do you get the “Sunday Blues?” You know, that feeling you get around 8:00 PM on Sunday when you realize the weekend is gone and you have to get up Monday and go back to work. I sure did, even with the jobs I loved the most! But I don’t feel that way now that I am working from home. Ask me about more benefits.
I put together a list of great advantages to working from home.
Save time on commuting
Depending where you live in the country you could be spending as high as an hour in commuting time to get to work. Multiply that by two to get back home at the end of the day, and you have spent a huge portion of your day just sitting in a car and burning all that gas. (Remember the gas prices of 2008?) Working from your home saves you all that time, and expense related to getting to and from work. And when you add it up, the money save on gas alone is over $1500.00 a year!
Save money on transportation
In addition to the gas prices involved with commuting, you have to consider the wear and tear on your car, tires, oil changes, cracked windshields, depreciation on your vehicle from high miles, increased insurance costs, parking tickets, toll fees, parking costs, and the increased risk of getting in an accident! Add all this up and you are looking at over $2,500.00 a year in additional savings to the gas itself!
Expenses are deductible
This can work for both employees or self employed people. You can deduct your internet, phone, supplies, and even the square footage that you use in your home to work. For self employed, it’s a must, and for employees, you can always ask for your company to pay for your internet access, phone line, and supplies. This saves you the cost of having those items also as personal expenses since you already have it for business usage in your home. Ask me about more benefits.
More flexible schedule
If you are like many others who are interested in working from home, you are probably looking to get out of the 8-5 rat race. You get up and go to work 5 or 6 days a week, and you never seem to get to your personal goals. Working as a direct marketer allows you to work smarter, not harder to build a future. And your hard work returns freedom to you, not your boss! Imagine being able to schedule work around trips, education, time with the family, arts, sports… well, the list is nearly endless. Just like school, a bit of hard work up front rewards you with great opportunities in the future.
Closer relationship with kids/family
Society today is so demanding of our time. Many households have two people working to pay the bills. Meanwhile, we hear reports of how important it is for parents to spend time with their kids to help them grow and prepare to be meaningful contributors in the future. Being a direct marketer allows you the freedom to spend time where you want! Work evenings, mornings, afternoons, weekends, its all up to you. You can schedule your life to support your family or personal development.
When you add it all up, it takes hard work and dedication to be a good parent or a good employee. So why not take a bit of time back from the corporate world, start your own business as a direct marketer, and build a future where time is on your side.
